All we have to do now is sit back and wait for the first order - but we're not holding our collective breath. We'll still be doing the rallies and music festivals as we love the atmosphere and of course the healing areas.

When I look back to the germ of an idea that was inspired by my late husband's pen and ink drawing, of a native american trading outside a fort in the 19th century, then visiting America and bringing back native items and crafts it seems that all our efforts have finally paid off. Selling native american chokers and crafts along with crystals at biker rallies was only the start of a long road that will hopefully lead to independence and full time employment for my husband and daughters!

If anyone is interested in taking a look the url is

http://www.tradingnative.co.uk/index.html

The majority of the items for sale are made by local native craftsmen in India, Tibet, China and the USA, with the sales benefitting the artist rather than the middle men who don't care what working conditions are as long as it makes money to line their pockets. We will not buy anything that we suspect is made by children or women in sweatshops, forced to work in atrocious conditions for a measly few pennies rather than clean healthy premises and fair wages.

Our buying from them directly will benefit our artisans in other countries, with the money they get for the sale of their beautiful craftsmanship will feed and support their own families, as we intended it to do right from the moment we decided to start up our own company.

Blessings to you and yours - wish us luck!

My head was in a whirl during the last few months - first my mum then my father-in-law to be had strokes, luckily both only small ones and they are doing well now. We decided that at the ages of 84 and 82(them, not us!), if we wanted to have our respective parents present at our marriage, we had better bring the ceremony forward. So on 25th November 2006, we had a lovely, moving ceremony at our local church with both families and our closest friends present followed by a great family party at a local resturant/pub. Even had karaoke in the evening and a fun time was had by everyone.

Our kids - his 2 and my 3, all adults, met for the first time and got on like the proverbial house on fire, his daughter even said she'd always wanted sisters and now she had three! At least all the girls got on - hopefully his son will eventually come round to the fact that his dad is now happier than he has been for years. We did have a good long chat, for the first time I might add, (me being the scarlet woman that his dad met after his parents broke up) and he seems to have accepted the idea at last! His daughter is a sweetheart and is perfectly prepared to accept me as her wicked stepmum and have fun with her new sisters.

My own daughters have taken hubby to their hearts, they all adore him and treat him like their dad, even to the point of all having a few drinkies and loads of giggles, then all pulling my leg - talk about ganging up on Mum! I'm so grateful that they can see what a good, loving and loyal man he is, even if he does drive me batty sometimes. They all had a whale of a time at Christmas, trying to pull the wool over my eyes and playing practical jokes.

He's also developing his own healing abilities, which his parents repressed when he was a kid because anything of "that sort" is frowned on up here in the North-east - you might end up in the local psychiatric ward if anything of a psychic nature is detected by your parents. When his mates realised he could take pain away from them when they hurt themselves, he was mocked when their parents remarked on it to his and quickly learned that you don't talk about that sort of thing to parents up here! He's surprising strong for someone who has denied their abilities and learning daily that the only limitations are in his own head. His awareness of spiritual matters is growing too and he surprises himself sometimes by anticipating events or knowing who is on the phone before answering it, he was a bit spooked at first but hey, he should be used to it by now with me!

The business is on hold for the moment, as we were let down by the person who was supposedly going to build our website, so we are having it professionally built with the help of Business Link, who have granted us a percentage of the final fee. Watch this space, as hopefully we will be going live by the end of February.

Now that the kids have all flown the nest, I decided to resume the healing work I have been doing since I was a child, helping people and animals who are sick and in pain. After being medically retired from nursing, my husband and myself worked together as healers. I moved up North with my husband to look after Mam and Dad, we were the carers when Dad became terminally ill.

One morning my husband simply forgot to wake up - I lost Dad six months later, so rather than sit and feel sorry for myself I became an online counsellor for bereavement and relationship breakdowns. Through this I met and subsequently befriended a sweet and caring man whose marriage had broken up. I did the "personal shopper" bit and changed his image from top to bottom and got him dating again. When Mam became very ill, he was there for me whenever I needed a friend or a shoulder, and one day we just realised that love had grown without either of us aware of it creeping up on us. We are now happily engaged and living together, partners in every way. He is also studying healing and helps to 'ground' me when I hold a healing session. Oh - and Mam adores him too!

We have started up a business trading Native American crafts and jewellery, and also design and make exclusive pieces to order. We are in the process of building a website and stocking up - more of this later!
